Ideas for holidays, weekends and trips in Katowice and its surroundings
Poznan is one of Poland's oldest cities, and brings with it a long and rich culture and heritage.
One of the best ways to see all that the city has to offer is to take a walk down the Royal-Imperial Route through the Old Town. Starting at the Church of St John Jerusalem, on this route you will see the beautiful Lake Malta and the sports centre next to it, the Cathedral of St Peter and St Paul, the old city walls, Poznan City Hall which includes the Museum of the History of Poznan, Działyński Palace which was built in the late 18th century and now serves as a library, the Palm House (a greenhouse dedicated to growing palm trees and other tropical plants), and many other historical and cultural points before ending at the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and St Florian. This tour is a fantastic way of exploring the wonderful city of Poznan, and you can do this over a few days, so however long you stay at the Campanile Poznan hotel, make sure you leave time to see at least half of this excellent tour.
For a family day out, Stare Zoo, 7km to the south of the hotel, is a great choice, and their Komodo dragons will certainly grab the kids' attention!
For food and drink, Poznan is one of the best places to experience Polish cuisine, and with the many restaurants and bars in the city centre, you won't be short of places to go during your stay.
